Asleep but yet alive….alive to the happenings of the world but asleep to the things of God.

As Ted Dekker mentioned in his book ‘The slumber of christianity’, our Journey as believers begins with an awakening.

Can you remember the time you got born again? That vibrant fire you had to do all you can for God and the appetite to literally eat up the scriptures and digest it?
Sometimes we may feel a spiritual burnout where we feel tired and want a refill or need a battery recharge. I’m young and suppose to be on the high for God but even in Isaiah 40, it mentions that even youths grow tired and weary…but He will renew the strengths of those who hope in Him.

Rom 13 vs 8-11
‘8 Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law. 9 For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.”[t] These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[t]
10 Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.
11 This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.’

I don’t want to be relaxing and become complacent about the things of God. I love it when I see other people so passionate about God. I came across someone’s pm on BBM where she called God her Sugar Daddy *smile* When we get to heaven we won’t be complacent about praising Him.

I read somewhere that if your love for Jesus is waxing cold, then your love for others is also waxing cold.

1 Thess 5 vs ‘6- So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded.
8- But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation.
11- So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.’

Let’s be awake to the things of God and not be carried away and slumber like people of the world.

Let our love remain faithful to the end. God’s grace is sufficient, let’s keep our fellowship with Him tight.

Prayer: Lord please don’t let my love for You wax cold, let it keep going on and on.

‘Forever Loving You’
