Heirs to the Kingdom

The palace was lavishly decorated; it was a sight to behold. The colours and scent of the flowers brought beauty as well as serenity to the kingdom. The birds played with themselves.
The king strolled around his palace as he usually did every day; nothing bored him. He got great joy when seeing his children enjoy what he gave; his riches. The high walls couldn’t block out what was happening outside his kingdom. The people that looked unkempt and despaired.
He shook his head at the sight.
He looked within his walls and saw most of his children who were playing, joyful….enjoying life to the fullest. Albeit one of them looked so sullen and almost resembled that of the outsiders. He immediately sent for her and when she had approached him was permitted to say what troubled her.
“Thank you your Majesty. I know you’re our king and sovereign but I can’t help but wonder why people out there suffer when there is this huge favour that can be obtained which you have made available to us. Why is it that some refuse to enjoy your goodness?” she asked. The king smiled at her. “They are ignorant of the riches they have and choose to suffer.”
“How do you mean your Majesty?” she asked confused.
“There are different ways to this. By choice not everyone won’t claim these promises and desire lowliness in life, some wouldn’t even believe the possibility of it, while some don’t chase the kingdom first. There are so many promises I have made. I am sure of my words…they never fail. If I have said something or made a promise, I will do it. It’s that simple. I know all that I have and all I have is yours. But people miss the little things and have become self dependent or perceive them as farfetched. They do not key into these promises.”
“Hmmm… but for some you appear so far to visit… difficult to see due to your position. I mean who can think of approaching the king for things such as riches? How can they be sure when they ask you about this that we will receive them.”
You ask questions to which I have written laws about, but you do not read to keep and practice….to believe and keep,” She looked perplexed. “I am an ever-present help in times of need. How I do it….is beyond you.”

An excerpt from “I DECLARE 31 promises to speak over your life by Joel Osteen”
I declare God’s incredible blessings over my life. I will see an explosion of God’s goodness, a sudden widespread increase. I will experience the surpassing greatness of God’s favor. It will elevate me to a level higher than I ever dreamed of. Explosive blessings are coming my way. This is my declaration.
I declare I will experience God’s faithfulness. I will not worry. I will not doubt. I will keep my trust in Him, knowing that He will not fail me. I will give birth to every promise God put in my heart and I will become everything God created me to be. This is my declaration.

I’ve known you all my life. I saw you from afar that first time and fell in love with you.

You asked what my name was and I said, Emmanuel.’ You treated me badly first, ashamed of my coming close to you. You rejected me and yet I pursued you. You said you wanted nothing to do with me. That you weren’t ready for any relationship with me and all my advances were in vain…. Yet I pursued you. There were days I felt pained at your rejection… I told you no one would ever love you as I do.
I called several times for you but to no avail. I stopped my pursuit and decided to wait for you to come to me…. like I knew you would eventually when you were tired of what little frivolity you enjoyed. At a point in time I had to ask myself, ‘would I finally let her go? Could I?’ As I pondered on it and made a decision in my heart, I heard a cry at my door and rushed to see who it was…..

The first time I met You I didn’t think I wanted anything to do with You. Even hearing about You made me want to run the opposite way. I still wanted to enjoy my life. But I found out all my enjoyment was vain….

I reconsidered my meeting with You and when we met it was pure joy and excitement. I wanted to learn more of You in every way, like one gasping for its next breathe. We talked like friends getting to know each other. I couldn’t wait to meet You each day and whenever we did it was a thrilling experience!

I want to walk in love with You over and over again. Want it to be like the first time. I want to court love over and over again…. More of You is what I want. Can I dare to ask for more just like Twist?…. that is Oliver Twist? This isn’t the selfish love but one I cherish and can’t seem to have enough of. As a deer thirsts for water so I thirst for You.

There’s no question about it; I want to give this a fighting chance…. Your love gives me the strength to go on. There’s no other decision to make… I want to be married to You. I wait when I would be married to You till eternity where our love would forever remain and I get to know more about You. For You, O Lord, are my love. Your pursuit of me was worthwhile….

Psalm 18 vs 1, ‘I love You, O Lord, my strength.’
